In a converted warehouse, north of Sydney Harbour, Bay Ten Espresso is a popular new destination for local foodies and caffeine fiends.
The site was originally used during the build of Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1923.
Drawing upon the industrial heritage of the space, the re-design of the space incorporates raw steel, timber pallets, exposed pipes, polished concrete, and a very hip recycled shipping container, which functions as a food and coffee prep station.
Legend has it that the container was once part of a major drug smuggling operation and was used to bring hundreds of kilos of merchandise into Australia. These days, it is used to serve up a less illicit kind of fix.
